Oliver has been on stage with the RSC several times, he was the lead in Cardenio which was also directed by Greg Doran and he was also in The City Madam and Marat/Sade.
"Oliver Rix in a dashing professional debut in the title role that reveals, once again, the RSC’s instinct for finding
young stars of the future". Mark Shenton, The Stage
"Oliver Rix is a beguiling Cardenio, at first full of flustered charm, then haunting crack-wittedness." Paul Taylor, Independent

Oliver is playing the Duke of Aumerle, the son of the Duke of York.
"In Richard II,
Aumerle is portrayed as a man who is undyingly loyal to King Richard and
is actually one of the main conspirators against the newly crown King
Henry IV. When his father, the
Duke of York, discovers his son's part in
the plot he immediately informs the king. Aumerle, however, reaches the king first and
begs for mercy, which he is ultimately given due to the
pleadings
of his mother. King Henry pardons his cousin but severely
punishes all the other conspirators." = shakespeareandhistory.com
Faith, none for me; except the north-east wind,
Which then blew bitterly against our faces,
Awaked the sleeping rheum, and so by chance
Did grace our hollow parting with a tear.
