Sam Marks has been on stage with the RSC before, in 2011 he appeared in Measure for Measure and Written on the Heart, which was directed by Greg Doran with fellow Richard II cast members Oliver Ford Davies, Youssef Kerkour, Simon Thorp, and Jim Hooper.
He has also appeared in several productions at the Salisbury Playhouse.
You might also recognize him from the Doctor Who episode The Shakespeare Code = he played Wiggins, the minstrel.
That is not his only Doctor Who connection he also appeared twice in the BBC series Nighty Night which featured Mark Gatiss as both an actor and a writer.
You can read his full CV here.

In Richard II he will be playing Bushy, the King's servant.

"Bushy along with Bagot and Green, is one of King Richard's favorites. He shows himself to be a bad influence on the king and is widely hated. When Bolingbroke returns from exile, Bushy and Green go into hiding but are found and promptly executed. Bolingbroke claims that the primary reason for their execution was their misleading of Richard." - shakespeareandhistory.com

Each substance of a grief hath twenty shadows,
Which shows like grief itself, but is not so;
For sorrow's eye, glazed with blinding tears,
Divides one thing entire to many objects;
